Our First Scare

As a few of you know, Chris and I had a little scare yesterday. During a nice lunch, compliments of Mickey D's, I started feeling a few quick pains in my lower abdomen. Not really thinking much of it, I went back to work where it proceeded to get worse and worse. So, of course, I called the doctor thinking she would tell me I'm a lunatic and it was absolutely nothing to worry about. I did not get that answer. What I got instead was "Go to Labor and Delivery now!"

Of course I went, with Chris beating me there by a good 10 minutes. I got strapped up to a fetal monitor and a contraction monitor. Then.....we waited for the pain to come again. And boy did it. The nurse told me it was either a simple UTI or contractions. Of course, it was contractions. And as you all know at 28 weeks that is no bueno.

After about 4 or so hours of sitting in the bed on my side, trying to not freak myself out, they decided to give me a shot that they hoped would subside the contractions. The nurse, while a super nice woman, told me the needle for this shot was the smallest needle in the world but that they physical shot would burn a little because of the medicine. Well, if you don't like needles, it doesn't matter the size. But hey, it was for my little guy and I would have taken the world's largest needle to help him. The needle was, in fact, small and the liquid she injected in me burned. Man did it burn. I mean, it burnt like the fire of 1000 suns seeping into your arm.

But, I am happy to say, all is good. I still have a few pangs now and then but nothing to run back to the hospital about.

We will be sure to keep everyone updated as our pregnancy furthers itself along. For now, I'm gonna go back to what I've been doing all day...laying on my side. Doctor's orders!

Turkey and Gifts

Last weekend Allison and I were able to come home for Thanksgiving and enjoy some time with our family and friends. I just want to thank all of you for the wonderful gifts for Caleb and the encouraging words that we received. We are both so blessed to have such a great family and the best group of friends that anyone could ask for. We miss all of you more than we can possibly express and we are always grateful to be able to see you all.
Aaron and Stephanie, Aidan could not be more handsome and it was so good to see him again. Justin and Kristi, Ellie is so beautiful and it was a joy to meet her. We just hope that we can be as good of parents as the four of you already are. We will continue to pray for Aidan and Ellie everyday.
We had such a great time with all of you and can't wait to see you all again!

Welcome!

Welcome friends and family!! Chris and I are so happy that you have decided to follow us as we begin our journey into becoming a family. Caleb Riley Estoker is our first little additon, besides our sweet Georgia, and should be joining us around March 16, 2009! We are blessed to have many friends and family all over the place so Caleb will feel loved no matter where we go.

With that said we will begin posting updated pregnancy pictures as well as pictures from the ever-growing nursery that Chris and I are too excited to wait to put together (our lease is up in February which means we will be moving when I am 8 months pregnant! FUN!!!)

So, sit back and let us know what you think!

Our growing boy!
