WE ARE HOME

Well it's been a little bit since I took the opportunity to put anything on the site. Everything is going so good and Allison and I are truly happy to be back home. We have been thankful for being able to stay with family during this transition as it has helped us to get situated without as much stress.

I was hired by a local insurance agency here and am almost finished with my first week. I enjoy the people that I work with and so far I'm picking right back up on things. It looks like Allison will be starting at The Capital Hotel hopefully next week. It is an amazing luxury hotel in downtown Little Rock.

We have had some great times with our friends already and look forward to many more. There are times that I miss Florida but I realize that it is really just the friends that I miss. We truly enjoyed the beauty of Florida but there is nothing like watching your family hold your son.

It is an absolute blessing to be back and we are so excited to make our home back where it needs to be.

Our big boy!!!

Good times with the family

We have been very fortunate to not have to rush into finding a place in Little Rock by being able to stay in Bryant with some proud grandparents. It's been such a joy to share his fun times with them and luckily they are patient with the not so fun times.

I'm out of here...soon.

So I'm spending the last few minutes here at work to write one more short note on the blog. I will hopefully be leaving tomorrow afternoon. There will be a short lapse in updating the blog but we will catch up as soon as possible. So, here is to good weather for the road and good caffeine for me!!!
To Florida, we look forward to visiting soon. To Arkansas, it's gonna be good to short woo pigs again with you all!!

Back Home...almost.

Allison and Caleb safely arrived in Little Rock Saturday afternoon. I was excited to hear that they have already had the chance to see alot of the family and friends. While I was glad to see them headed home, it was heartbreaking to see them leave without me. I spent the better part of Saturday morning as a blubbering baby. Luckily I had the chance to get out of the empty house and spend the afternoon on the beach.
I was able to pack up the house yesterday and now I'm just waiting to join my family back home. I can't wait to hug and kiss them both!! We are both so absolutely excited to be back home with our family and friends.
See you all real soon!!!

Four Months

So our little man is growing leaps and bounds each day. We celebrated his four month birthday yesterday and are enjoying every moment(almost) during this faze. Once again we are faced with trying to get him to learn new things while holding on to the moments with him the way he is now.

He is quickly learning how to sit up on his own without too much help. He still likes to throw his head back to make mom nervous though. We have also enjoyed trying to teach him to stand. He really enjoys trying this out and doesn't tire easily. We can definitely tell that he has his mom's determination. After having some trouble lately with feeding him, we were informed that he is probably ready to try some "big boy foods". We attempted rice cereal last night and found that it is not a good idea to try something new when he is tired and hungry. Our daycare, on the other hand, informed Allison today that they were successful. Our little man devoured a bowl of rice cereal in about 15 minutes! The best part is that he kept the majority of it in his mouth.

So while it's difficult to see him growing so fast, we are enjoying each of these new milestones with so much pride.

Our little talker

Caleb has really been exploring his voice lately. When he's not sleeping, he's talking. He loves the camera so much though that as soon as I try to record him he stops and stares at the camera. Watch the part in the video where we say camera and he immediately looks at it and stops talking.

Growing up

So we had another eventful weekend with Caleb. He is starting to roll over now! We have tried to catch it on video but have been unsuccessful so far. He has become very comfortable on his little tummy and holds his head up the entire time and just looks around.

Allison and I decided to try out the pool on Saturday and it went better than expected. He loved kicking in the water. He wasn't too sure of everything at first but got pretty comfortable with it after a few minutes. We can't wait to take him back and see how he does the second time.

It's amazing how much fun he is right now. Allison and I are both excited to see Caleb exploring new things but it just reminds us that he is growing up so fast. Thank God for cameras because these times seem to be flying by.

From the Sunshine State to the Natural State

After giving my notice to my boss last night, we can now announce to everyone that we are moving back home. Allison and I have truly enjoyed our time in Florida and will always look back and be thankful that we did it. We always had intentions of moving back home at some point and with the addition of Caleb into our family we decided now is the time. We look forward to introducing everyone to Caleb and can't wait to share the great moments that we have had with him with our family and friends.
Florida has allowed Allison and I some really great memories and I'm sure that we will miss some of the luxuries of living in this state. We will definitely look forward to coming back for vacations in the future.
While the beaches here are beautiful to look at, I miss waking up to the smell of the campfire by the lake. As exciting as it is to pull in a flounder off the pier, it's nothing like a trout out of the Little Red. While we have greatly enjoyed our friends here, there is nothing like a family barbeque back home.
We can't wait to spend time with our friends back home and are looking forward to Caleb hanging out with Aidan and Ellie.
So to everyone in Florida, thank you for some very special memories and some really great times.
To everyone in Arkansas, we are counting the days until we are able to call the hogs with you again!!

Still here!

So I realized that it's been several days since we have posted anything. I'm glad to say that the Estoker family is still doing well. Caleb has been trying to sit up quite a bit more lately. It's fun to watch him learn how to control his body. He is loving being able to kick and swing his arms. His new favorite thing is blowing bubbles with his spit, which has provided a lot of entertainment for him and alot of slobbered shirts for us. He is very talkative in the mornings and gives us great big smiles all morning long.
Allison and I are doing well too. We have certainly been missing home alot but have really been trying to enjoy the perks of living here during the summer. I will try to take some new pictures this weekend so everyone can see how big our little man is becoming.

Allison

While we have devoted our attention primarily to Caleb on this site; there is another aspect of "The Estoker Family". We love sharing all of the wonderful stories about Caleb and posting pictures and videos of him as frequently as possible. He has given us so much joy and taught us so much. Though we love our little man with all our hearts, there is more to us. It is with a great realization over the last couple of days that Allison and I have began to long for what once was. We have yet to get over the initial excitement of having a baby and I'm sure we never will. Over the last several days though, I have realized how much that excitement has taken over a very important part of our family...our marriage.

I'm sure with any new addition to the family, marriage takes a back seat for a bit while parenting becomes first. I remember my former pastor teaching that your spouse should always come before your children. At 18 years old this was pretty easy to believe. At 29 years old with a two month old baby boy that statement has become not just words of wisdom but a daily challenge. It's hard to imagine our marriage without Caleb but it has become even more difficult to remember how are marriage was before him.

While Caleb provides us with many laughs and great moments of pride; it was Allison who first swept me away with with her love, humor and devotion. It was Allison who showed me unrelenting love and complete honesty with one self. It was Allison who made me feel pride for my good decisions and who showed me compassion when I made poor ones. Without Allison in my life, I would have never experienced what I have felt in the last couple of months with Caleb. I would have never been able to experience that amazing day a little over two months ago. Even more though, I would have never experienced the last two and half years of an amazing marriage.

So while this site has been devoted primarily to Caleb, I'm proud to say that Chris and Allison are still here and doing well. Don't worry though, we will still be posting a ton of great pictures, videos and stories on Caleb. It's amazing how easy it is to brag on such a great little man but it's even more amazing at how little I have bragged on my little lady. I just had to take the opportunity to do so.
