Still here!

So I realized that it's been several days since we have posted anything. I'm glad to say that the Estoker family is still doing well. Caleb has been trying to sit up quite a bit more lately. It's fun to watch him learn how to control his body. He is loving being able to kick and swing his arms. His new favorite thing is blowing bubbles with his spit, which has provided a lot of entertainment for him and alot of slobbered shirts for us. He is very talkative in the mornings and gives us great big smiles all morning long.
Allison and I are doing well too. We have certainly been missing home alot but have really been trying to enjoy the perks of living here during the summer. I will try to take some new pictures this weekend so everyone can see how big our little man is becoming.

Allison

While we have devoted our attention primarily to Caleb on this site; there is another aspect of "The Estoker Family". We love sharing all of the wonderful stories about Caleb and posting pictures and videos of him as frequently as possible. He has given us so much joy and taught us so much. Though we love our little man with all our hearts, there is more to us. It is with a great realization over the last couple of days that Allison and I have began to long for what once was. We have yet to get over the initial excitement of having a baby and I'm sure we never will. Over the last several days though, I have realized how much that excitement has taken over a very important part of our family...our marriage.

I'm sure with any new addition to the family, marriage takes a back seat for a bit while parenting becomes first. I remember my former pastor teaching that your spouse should always come before your children. At 18 years old this was pretty easy to believe. At 29 years old with a two month old baby boy that statement has become not just words of wisdom but a daily challenge. It's hard to imagine our marriage without Caleb but it has become even more difficult to remember how are marriage was before him.

While Caleb provides us with many laughs and great moments of pride; it was Allison who first swept me away with with her love, humor and devotion. It was Allison who showed me unrelenting love and complete honesty with one self. It was Allison who made me feel pride for my good decisions and who showed me compassion when I made poor ones. Without Allison in my life, I would have never experienced what I have felt in the last couple of months with Caleb. I would have never been able to experience that amazing day a little over two months ago. Even more though, I would have never experienced the last two and half years of an amazing marriage.

So while this site has been devoted primarily to Caleb, I'm proud to say that Chris and Allison are still here and doing well. Don't worry though, we will still be posting a ton of great pictures, videos and stories on Caleb. It's amazing how easy it is to brag on such a great little man but it's even more amazing at how little I have bragged on my little lady. I just had to take the opportunity to do so.
